Day 23: A favourite author

J. K. Rowling

I guess I don’t have to say much about this. Rowling was at a low point in her life when she published the first book of her Harry Potter series. She had been rejected so many times but never stopped and believed in herself. She showed us that, if you work hard and fight for your dreams, you can make everything happen. And just look where she is today.

Her books inspired millions of people, kids and adults alike, and got so many kids into reading, including myself. And although the beloved Harry Potter series finished years ago it keeps inspirung many many people.

But not enough. Rowling is also founder of the Lumos charity. A charity aiming to help disadvantaged children in institutions and orphanages all around the world.

She is also funny and stands up to bullies (as seen many times on her twitter). She lost her status as billionaire because she donated so much of the money she made with HP to charities. She’s fighting for feminism.

To me, she is not only an amazing write but also a great inspiration.
